Reset (LENTEN DEVOTIONAL)

Reset *This Lenten devotional was prepared and presented for the 2024 Lent Lunch series, of Spring Hill Avenue U.M.C. in Mobile, Alabama. PastorAEW was honored to be their pulpit guest.

Acts 1:8 NLTBut ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Introduction: Reset means to set again/differently; nuance that is innovative and creative.

Transition: These forty days of Lent are intended to be a rest for the church of Jesus Christ, to focus on the main thing (the will of God).

Exposition: Jesus explains what a reset looks like…

A true reset makes you stronger

Resets involve a shift in purpose

When resets occur, you don’t get stuck where you were meant to start

Conclusion: Our hands are too small to handle this work, but God’s hands are just the right size to give us what we need to live out God’s purpose for our lives.
